MIRANDA LIVERPOOL as Angela

Miranda began dancing at the age of 11 in Mississauga, ON. She has taken all styles of dance including jazz, ballet, tap, acro, lyrical and musical theatre.  After high-school, she continued her studies at Ryerson University, where she earned a degree in Theatre Performance-Dance where she learned from exemplary teachers such as Karen Duplisea, Nadia Potts, and Vicki St.Denys and performed in works by Sylvie Bouchard, Julia Sasso, and Heidi Strauss.  After graduating in 2005, Miranda began her professional career dancing with the Toronto Argonauts Blue Thunder Dance Team, Carnival Cruise Lines. She currently dances with the AfroLatino Dance Company, and The Dance Migration, and freelances throughout the city. Miranda has also added singing and acting to her professional resume since returning to Toronto.

NATALIE ALEXANDER
Ensemble

Born and raised in St. Lucia, Natalie was blessed with a body, spirit, heart and mind that keeps whispering ‘Dance from the Heart’. She is trained in various types of dance, she was a student in 2004 at the Ballet Creole Professional Training Program and was an apprentice with COBA. Natalie has partaken in several dance projects and productions in St. Lucia with companies such as Charmalion Dance Troupe, Les Esfant Dance and St. Lucia National Dance Company, with one of her greatest success milestones being the five month participation of the Mbongeni Ngema’s Sarifina Stage Production staged by St. Lucia’s Folk Research Center in collaboration with Jamaica Musical Theatre Company.  A dancer with COBA – Collective of Black Artist, natalie praises Charmaine Headley and Bakari Lindsay as her most influential mentors and greatest contributors to her professional training and experience in this spiritual and profound world of Dance.


BOKGABANE RAKEEPILE 
Ensemble

Hails from from Soweto, South Africa. He is currently a student in the Professional Training Program at Ballet Creole. Bokgabane was born dancing! He has toured with the Soweto Marimba Band twice to Canada, and wanted to further his training in dance so decided to make Toronto his home.  Bokgabane specializes in traditional and urban contemporary South African dance styles is studying ballet, Caribbean and modern contemporary dance forms. His love for dance can be seen everytime he performs.


SANDRA WHITING as Edna

Sandra has been at the epicentre of activity and change in Toronto for over twenty years. Using the Arts as a vehicle, she has made significant contributions as a storyteller, motivational speaker, event host, writer and performance artist. 

Sandra is a Renaissance woman whose tenacity, joie de vivre,
humour, and expertise have endeared people of all ages. Her extensive work as an event programmer and cultural and community developer with Toronto’s premier cultural arts facility, Harbourfront Centre, has helped her forge strong connections with diverse audiences across new, emerging and established communities. And like a pebble in a pond, the ripple effect of her work has resonated far and wide.



KWASI MCKINGHT as Khemani

Kwasi J McKnight began dancing hip hop at sixteen. Within the first few years of his training he was exposed to expansive wisdom that led him to explore and discover different dance styles outside of urban dance. Through the guidance of dancer/choreographer Saba Alemayehu of Javaih formerly Nouvel Expose, Kwasi has studied and learned various forms of African dance and is now a member of Arabesque Dance Academy, Bollywood Grooves as well as Jaivah dance troupes. He continues to train in diverse dance styles from classical dance to urban with OIP Dance Company in their 2008-2009 season. Kwasi’s credits include appearances in videos and films -Devine Brown, Eva Avila, Neverending White Lights, Alex Cuba and The Incredible Hulk (2008). Kwasi has parlayed his experience and education in both modern and traditional dance styles into the formation of his own culturally rooted dance group called Project Origin. Being part of the Love and Movement production makes Kwasi jump for joy!


RAOUL PILLAY as Joe

Raoul Pillay was born in Zimbabwe, Africa. As self taught dancer his mother discovered he had a passion for Arts at a very early age upon his immigration to Toronto he continued his passion for Art and dance. At St Mary’s Secondary School where he attends his passion had fuelled interests in acting and has began training in different styles of movement. After a year of countless training and networking with other dancers.  He is the co-founder Moon Runners and the group the School of Mayhem.  As part of giving back to the community he teaches popping and locking to underprivileged kids who attend boarding school. He still trains in other forms of dance and he aspires to be a better artist 


KERRY- ANN WRIGHT
Ensemble

Kerry-Ann Wright is a Jamaican born dancer specializing in Afro-Caribbean and modern dance. Her expertise in folk traditions compliments her training and artistic explorations with modern dance. These two experiences compliments the essence of her artistic delivery. She is currently a student at York University working towards her BFA in dance, in hopes of one day owning her own studio. She has won several awards in the Junior Folklore Festival for her solos & duets; and has participated in various dance productions throughout the GTA & toured in Trinidad n Tobago and Dominica. She is a core dancer in Dance Caribe Performing Company, Choreographer/Instructor with the Hummingbird Dancers of Oshawa and teaches  at Children's Dance Theatre.


MEGAN EVANS
Ensemble

A dancer from Buffalo NY, Megan has been dancing for 17 years and has trained in ballet, modern and African dance. She has graduated from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts with a high school dance degree and set her sight on a dance career. This led her  Ballet Creole's Professional Training Program where she trains every day in a wide variety of dance styles. She is passionate about dance and wish to pursue dance as a career.
